  • Too much chat. Haz more porn please?

  • i like the paint job on the frame, thats just about it...

  • I hear you, Toby D. Very nice. I'll even forgive the tri-spoke on the lugged steel frame seeing as it's an old-ish one.

  • to the old school MTBer Klein represents the worst of the era.

Ok now I'm sure you're either trolling or clueless.

  • oh for fucks sake. i'm leaving.

    proper old school MTB Porn.
    The Xizang TI

And it's outsourced (though possibly better) sibling the LIghtning

proper MTB porn from the 90's can really only include frames and tires. everything else was shit.

  • this frame was so ahead of it's time, that i'll throw this up here. It had all the flaws of bikes from that era (pedal bob, and bad pivots), but it was one of the more efficient, light and actually rideable full sus bikes made at the time.

I stand by my CQP cranks from 1993, they can give anything from today a run for its money for combining stiffness with light weight, although in real terms they were more expensive than THM Clavicula

A list of 90s MTB component porn:

    -Chris King hubs and headsets
-Hope (titanium) hubs, headsets and disc brakes
    -White industries eno freewheel
-RB designs magura HS33 aftermarket levers
    -Middleburn RS-7 cranks
    -Cannondale headshock
    -Cannondale lefty

    The list goes on...

  • I have these on my fixed atm. Completely wrong really, but it's a set of cranks so I'm using them

  • Magura rim brakes +1! Still good today.

  • haha that AMP was trash. I remember those magazine reviews and they had sloppy bushings
    after one ride.
syncros was shit too. my cattleprod stem disintegrated into dust after a few years.
and the "hardcore" handlebar is not even at the level of modern entry level components.
but +1 on the magura rim brakes. have been maintenance free for over 12 years.

  • I sill use these; Middleburn RS3 cranks, X-Lite Fly stem, Magura Racelines, Hope Big-un hubs and Bomber Z1 forks, nothing wrong with them at all.

I'm also still using the backward shifting XTR rear mech from 99! It's stupid but I like it.

i used a set of 1991 bullseyes right up until 4 years ago. still the stiffest cranks i have ever used.

  • ... but you might not get such a good ride from somebody whose heyday was 1993

Now I have nasty 'experianced MILF' metaphors going around my head.

I love the look of old school MTB's with horizontal top tubes and steel forks. Even the cheap rubbish which survives as beaters and commuters, make me turn my head. They seem to look so fun. Seeing the nicer examples on this thread is a joy too. But, given the chioce, I'd rather be on a mid range Focus or similar.

    Still, pretty though.

  • it doesnt matter how much I look at MTBs I just cannot get excited about them doesnt matter what spec ,material of fancy paint job, they remind me of buses for some reason
Sombody please post a picture of a cool track bike

  • Pretty sure Nuknows posted all the track bikes....

  • Repost most likely.

  • ...tyres...
    ...bar tape colour...
    ...spoke pattern (?)...

    (jealous because of frame)

  • ...choice of literature...no?

  • ;)

I rode one of those Amp Research fork for 5 years, it was very light lasted well and never let me down.
