Had 3 bikes taken from the shed, Fondriest track bike, 10 year old Gary Fisher full suspension bike and a basic GT mountain bike. The insurance company has said they will replace like for like but I'm a bit unclear exactly what this means.
The chances of them tracking down a replacement Fondriest seems slim and i got it as a bargain from ebay [£200 fully built] so are they likely to fob me off?
Similarly the Gary Fisher was only insured for £500 as it was old but cost a grand new, obviously they're not going to give me a grand cash but a £500 full sus wouldn't be much use to me.
Ideally I'd just like the cash to hit ebay and start again but I'm concerned if I take this option they will discount the payment and I'll not end up with enough to get sorted out. They stress in the policy they will only pay out what they can replace the stuff for.
