Any body else heard about this? Anyone keen?

  • im up for this, is anyone else gonna go?

  • if it stays dry

  • so is anyone going?

  • so is anyone going?

I did it was quite a good crack, with a slow ride through town and up through byker before finishing in the pub, there was about twenty folk there,so need to get the word out for the next one, whenever that is.

  • there is a critical mass this saturday, 6pm at the star and shadow. undecided if im going yet

  • Yeah, I had an email from Dorothy about this. I'm gonna try to make it into town for it.

  • yeah same. if the weather is good then i'll come along. be good to get a few more

  • Reclaim the streets, an' all that!

  • just did about 30 miles so probs gonna give cm a miss tonight

  • it needs to be a regular thing, once a month, and advertised better, i have no idea how anyone would find out about it

  • Agreed. But I think the point of no advertising is to stop the cops from clamping down on it. Must be a better way?

  • how do the london kids do it? hundreds attend

There is also a shit load more people in London.

  • thanks, but i think that's out of date. i usually know when cm is happening and its just random days i think?

  • That could be the problem. Everywhere else it's the same time place etc every month. Moving things is never good for upping the numbers.

  • that, and the fact that newcastle has very few cyclists

  • Not much changed in the 15 years since I was there then.

  • theres a CM tonight, anyone fancy it?

  • i would've been but got other plans.

  • yes been reading about that this week, horrific.

understandable though, if he was in a hurry

  • That makes absolutely horrific watching!! As a motorist, motorcyclist, cyclist, pedestrian and human being my personal view is that there can be no excuse for this sort of behaviour. If the driver was indeed being intimidated or in a real emergency-type hurry he could have turned down a side-street or reversed out of the situation. I appreciate that's quite a simplistic view of an incident which I've only had a brief and one-sided view of, but still..... Appalled.

Just relieved that no-one was seriously injured or killed :(
