Beginners Polo

2011 UPDATE:

We now have a Polo Strategy & Coaching section which is really helpful if you want to progress your game. If you want to make the step up to join the other sessions, you would be well advised to practice some SOLO POLO which most players have done and are still doing. This will really help hone your skills and make the transition easier. Even if you're happy staying at the beginners session, these tips are really helpful.

^ Solo/Duo/Trio/whatever polo, should be there at about 5 or even as early as 4, 07503274175 just in case anyone wanna double check before turning up.

I will be at Newington for solo polo on Monday evening/night. Should be there from 5 onwards, pending collection of my bike from Heythrop. Anyone who wants a light session will be more than welcomed to join in.

2 mallets, free to good home.

They are a bit dented and bent, but perfectly usable. 92cm long.

If a beginner or two wants a mallet, just let me know.

Hey Wicksie, meant to ask you this a while back - whats your timetable for emigrating?

I thought originally you were gonna be leaving in a month or two from now, but I might have read a post saying you werent heading off for another six to eight months? Or do I have that wrong..?

Ah ok, cool. Was gonna organise some beginners summer sessions on the assumption you werent going to be around. But if you are, you do a great (better than I would) job of it at PCP, so I'll leave it in your capable hands.

Mate, to be perfectly honest I'd be happy if you did.
I started beginners because back in the day I used to practice in Peckham and found it help as a stepping stone to the 'regular sessions'. I wanted to do this for other people (mostly my team) which is why it's in Peckham (as I have to ghost a bike most weeks).
I put a lot of effort in to this at the start when people dropped out last minute, didn't have the numbers etc. and to be honest I think my work here is done.
So please, do as you see fit and I'll continue to Tuesdays at Peckham as long as I'm here and enough people want to play.

Yep, as long as there is at least 6. If there are not 6 on the list then it's not on.

So at this stage I'm bringing the loaner and 1 mallet. Cool.

I'm really sorry, two people already asked me. But saying that I do have a really old bamboo one at the back of a cupboard somewhere, I'll dig it out, and see if it's playable.
