Any brake would a bike a "not track bike" but if you are going to ride a bike on the road, two brakes are better than one.
the motivation for that comment was that in my naivety I presumed that the frame was a keirin frame that had been drilled, compromising its originality. obviously drilled forks are often available, whereas drilling the rear bridge of a track frame is not repairable hence why it is (was) frowned upon on these boards.
