They were unique, back in the mid 1980s when they were a popular choice for testers. Not only are the pads unlike anything else, and fixed to the arms by an eccentric adjuster which means substituting something more modern needs a bit of ingenuity, but the reach was so short that you pretty much had to have your frame custom built to accept them, and putting a normal 39mm 'short' reach brake in their place sometimes requires filing of the top of the pad adjuster slots on the new brake to get the pad high enough.

Their web presence is probably best described as retro like their stock, but if you phone them you're likely to be able to talk to somebody who has a clue, another retro feature :-)

I have these on a bike and need to find brake pads to fit them to use on carbon rims! Since you have a lot of knowledge do you know of anything or is it as per you post on the shimano pads?
