  • I think any current Shimano style shoe (including Tektro and Ashima copies) should fit, but probably need a different bolt as the normal bolt head looks too big to fit the recess in the eccentric adjuster. Of course, they won't look as cool as the stock ones, but you get to use common pattern pads, including modern compounds which might actually slow you down with a single pivot calliper, and you can buy generic Shimano copies for under £8

    Yes, the bolt was one problem. Not too difficult to modify though. The aesthetic is the one major downside but on the other hand Shimano holders can look quite nice. The dulled anodizing on the 105 looks better better than chromed imo - also matches the caliper.

    The main thing about them for me is the eccentric adjustment. It looks so much neater than having a slot running down the side. I guess it's cheaper/easier for manufacturers to make the slot for adjustment.
