Does anybody know the seatclamp size? Im sprucing the old girl up and have mislaid the old clamp while she is at the painters and I have mislaid the old one?
Any help appreciated, hopefully I will treat the bike to a thomson clamp!

I think it's 31,2 but not 100% sure. I would measure it for you but I won't see my nelson till monday.

Thanks mate, that sounds about right from memory with a 27.2 seat pin

I'm thinking of putting the same tyres on my Nelson. I assume they fit fine?

Another question here, does the headtube need reaming and facing before installing the headset and forks?
If so, is there anywhere (preferably east) where I can get this done?

Mine came with the headset pre installed and all the reaming on the bb shell done.

On mine, BB shell threads were somewhat wanting, should really have get them redone (though I did not amd it still went OK). Love the bike, btw.

The rear was tight (25c Marathon Plus) as the brake bridge has a cube in the middle where the hole is drilled and I had to file it down to be flush with the rest of the bottom face of bridge. And I seem to remember that even with 23c the wheel on mine could not be put at the front of the dropouts as the tyre would rub on the seattube.
So my example may have been made on the day they lost their jig!
I've actually engaged in a measurement FAIL. I'm actually 172cm (just under 5ft 8). I blame human physiology and the fact that people are taller first thing in the morning compared to the evening.
If 57 actually is 55cm, then i suspect the 57 frame should still be ok. I'll ring them to check.
