can you verbalise why you like these images so much?
1st image is good because: it's metered well, and as a result there's no dead white or black in the photo. Really nice muted tones. The head in front is a nice and interesting detail as is the aerial mast. Some nice textures/patterns on the house too - I like the contrast between the lines on the green roof and the diamonds on the walls.
2nd is just an interesting piece of rock and well - I just like rocks. Nice colour palette and tones, again metered well - would've been easy to lose that shadow. DOF/foreground leads into the subject well.
3rd is an interesting arrangement, the split wood and the ice formed inside, the fungus growing, tones + colours etc. I like the way the lines of the wood lead your eye up and down - drifting in front and behind the focal point.
4th, I like how the blur in the trees behind seems to contain movement and lacks resolution but the pine sticks out and seems sharp and static.
5th, OK I admit it, this isn't giving me a photo boner but it still has some nice detail picked out and some nice shapes in the out of focus background.

Apologies if my photographic analysis is dour.
