From the leather cycling shoes thread.
Not casual either at £163.39
These look absolutely beautiful in the flesh. I've only seen the brown but the patina on the leather is incredible.

I'm gettting these next (already have some aerator SBS). Northwave shoes fit sooooonice.
Very casual.Wouldn't mtb versions be more casual? The cleats are going to protrude on those road shoes and make walking a massive pain.
Do you have wide feet? I just got Rebel SBS's, and find them quite loose, laterally, and I can do the ratchet bit up to the hilt and it's still barely tight enough.

Just got my pair of fiveten hellcats in the post, first impressions:
They're pretty heavy/chunky, but look like they'll stand anything, the stitching is awesome.
Problem is, they don't seem to fit me very well, like i can't get them tight enough to feel secure without them becoming uncomfortable. Plus they look ridiculous on the ends of my chicken legs... Will probably keep looking, might try the 661s...I thought this at first as well (im assuming you mean the tongue digging a bit), but they just need breaking in, they should soon soften up, mine are comfy as fuck now.

andyp, love you to bits, will invest in a pair of the dzr's for the summer, once the weather starts to turn, or maybe right now, will look at bank balance and decide. Now just need to build up the summer ride to rock with them..

Yeah, since posting that, i've slackened off the laces a bit and adjusted the strap, now they're lovely
Easy to walk in, stiff enough to cycle with and you don't have to carry any normal shoes with you, win win innit.

WTF? Those DZR's have a rage face on the sole?

being able to have a flat platform to stand on is immensely useful when I don't have to worry about slipping off the pedal like the mtb shoes which have a plastic centre.
This makes perfect sense and I agree, I'm always slipping off the pedal before fully clipping in (like just pootling along in stop/start coming up to junction traffic)

If you're going to try and use innuendo to make funnies, at least make tham A) funny and B) make sense.

They'll be for the roadie, soI was joking about the casual bit. I have seriously high volume feet. Northwave cycle shoes are the first technical shoes to actually fit me. So your might have been better off with something like a diadora or shimano. Which have a lower volume.
My one issue with the top-of-the-line Northwave shoes, is the ventilation. Its only warm enough about one day a year up here to warrant it.

"high volume feet" - I like that!
I had some nike medora's before. Cheap, but fitted perfectly. Only replaced them because they became so worn in parts they were more like sandals. Would have replaced them like for like but they stopped making them years ago :(

Were I come from they're called pasty feet.
I prefer high volume.
Diadora shoes come up bloody cheap occasionally. Check Chainreactioncycles etc.

just bought a pair of the DZR Ovis from Always Riding,
just got paid so thought I'd invest now, rather than wait until summer really was upon us and had no cash at all. Actually quite excited about getting them. May even arrive tomorrow morning...

I use these, you need to wear warm socks in the winter but your feet warm up quick anyway:

post up a mini review when you've been riding them for a little while. I'm really interested how they hold up.
