Hi all,
So I bought the Bianchi frame from Golgol couple of weeks ago, I had a project in mind for my girlfriend, but:
-I quickly put wheels on for her to try, the frame would be slightly to big, she is not such a confident rider, so I'd prefer not take the risk
-I wanted the crack repaired, took it to Vaz. He could remove the seized seat post for me, but he's builder cannot repair the crack. He reckons filing down and try to amend the crack would actually weaken the tube. On the other hand, he believes that where the tube is located, it should not be an issue structurally speaking, and that the frame could be used, keeping an eye on the crack (as suggested by Holdsworth cycle, like said in the OP). Now due to the seat post having been removed, he had to heat frame a bit and cosmeticaly it has suffered, the top of the bianchi decal on the down tube is damaged, the chrome finish has turned blue/orange in some places (like a motorbike stainless steel exhaust)I suppose Polo players, people in need for a beater could use this... I paid a fiver to have the seat post removed, but £35 still for the frame / fork / headset / non-seized seatpost.
PM me if interested!

Thanks for that.
Here's the picture of the frame now the seatpost has been removed. You can see the cosmetic damage the removing has caused
Sweedee, the size is 55cm center to top (did not measure, it says so on the frame)

Bump?
Couple bits and pieces:
(1) Cannondale C3 road drop handlebars. Taken off my Synapse. Good condition, few very minor marks, 42cm wide. £8.00
(2) Kona risers, few marks, cut down to 57.5cm. SOLD
(3) Flipped and chopped track bars from Bianchi pista, 40cm wide, wrapped in standard black bar tape. Average condition. SOLD
(4) Brand new in packet Oury black grips £5.00
(5) Shimano 105 front brake. Good condition, comes with pads but they need replacing. SOLD
(6) KMC chain. Used for about 3 months. Just cleaned in anticipation of putting it on a new build but too short. SOLD
(7) Diatech goldfinger brake lever. Few marks. Good working order** SOLD**
(8) Bianchi pista. 55cm frame and forks. Been my everyday ride for the last 3 years and the bike that got me into cycling in London but sadly has been retired for various reasons, including what is described here: The seatpost has seized in the seat tube and corrosion inside has caused the tube to expand and crack. The crack is 3cm long and runs vertically down the seat tube. It has not noticeably increased in size since I noticed it at the beginning of winter. I had the frame checked at Holdsworth in Putney and their advice was to keep an eye on the crack to see if it gets any bigger but continue riding it. It has been pretty well used and bares the marks to show for it. Measures just under 70cm from centre BB to saddle rails. Cane Creek headset included. £35 SOLD
Located in SW18 but can meet near Waterloo during the week.
