In my new effort to be supportive to new members.
This looks amazing, an utter bargain, no way it could be too good to be true.

that looks suspiciously like a create just re branded
- not 100% sure *
- don't take my word for it *
search for create and have a read !
then look on here for other bikes that are going for sale at that price point and i'm sure you'll do better with a nice second hand bit of quality - not 100% sure *

shite. looks like a generic create/unipack.
do some research. have a look on the otp thread on here and find a reputable dealer to sell it to you. then if it breaks you can go back and moan/get it sorted. -

I know nothing about those bikes but at that price I'd expect quality and longevity to be first on the list of con's.
Depending on budget, there are plenty of good bikes to be had - a Fuji Track for example would be a good starting bike for little money.

Yet another create/unipack rebranded. Rubbish

Do you really need 3 different threads about your bike decision?
Search the forum for OTPs, google for reviews etc etc
Personally I find that if the bike specs don't include named parts (much like this one where they tell you what the frame/cranks etc are made of rather than who built them) then it's best to avoid it.

another 100 - 200 ( which in these hard times is a struggle i know ) and you could get yourself a well regarded well researched ( by the forum ) bike
search for reviews and the otp track bike thread
really good research too put together by GAG2 -

In that case, it's a death trap. Avoid.

Wouldn't ride it fixed if I were you.
That parts list smells like snap, cracked and can't stop.
-
• #11
pay for what you get dont expect it tolast long if youre gonna actually ride it anywhere
-
• #12
Can we get a single "What do you think about this bike?" thread?
-
• #13
Tell it I hate it!
-
• #14
Save your £250 watch the classifieds on here you will get 3 times the bike for the same money
-
• #15
Why are you considering buying a bike from a site where the only other product on sale is a smoothie maker?
Think with your brain. -
• #16
What do I think about it? It's extremely ugly and you could get a very good secondhand bike for the same money. Other than that, I don't think a lot about it.

**facking hells guys. Its not that bad. ive had 1 of these for about 9 months or so now and ride it 2-4 times a week. its never once let me down (apart from a puncture). granted, its not the best bike out there but hay, i think you're all forgetting its only 250. thats what i paid for mine and i still think i got an absolute bargain. i whipped the back brake of and only ever run it fixed. :)

Tmag59 don't you mean Alternative's other bike - the Shakesta. That is surely the bike to have. Cycling is thirsty work and this bike creates both the thirst and the ability to quench.
I've been thinking of getting this bike:
http://www.alternativebikes.com/bikes_speedsta.html
I'm new to this so before i take the plunge, can some1 tell me wheter this is a good deal/good bike or whether i should go to a major retailer like evans?
Thanks
