  • Peñas are basically clubs, organisations of whatever, they're prevalent in all sorts of activities in Spain, the sociedad gastronimaca is big in the Basque Country, tis basically a bunch of blokes cooking good food and drinking lots of wine, during San Fermin these groups have their own establishments were they meet up, eat, drink and get wasted. It's good fun.

    Saint Malo to the Basque Country is one hell of a trek, one I would love to do one day, not fussed if it's by bike or in a camper van.

    I've done Bordeaux to Bilbao via San Sebastian, Pamplona and Vitoria. One of the nice parts in Europe, at least from what I've seen of it.
