Without the relevant scientific information required to establish the "slower" and "you" bits, we can only guess.
I'm going to hazard a guess that you are not racing, but commuting. In which case "slower" or "faster" is largely irrelevant when it comes to tyres.
Instead of asking vague questions on internet forums I suggest you do some research yourself and with the information you glean from this, make an informed decision for yourself.

Tyres for the so-called 'track' only have to grip enough to keep the rider upright whilst the conveyor belt surface spins beneath them; and road tyres don't share the asymmetrical profile of track tryes, which are made in moulds that allow for the constant lean to the left.
