  • all he could repeatedly say was 'im terribly sorry' in such a middle class way.

That's a terribly middle class thing to say old chap.

    made me think of this:

  • Southwark as well dude, it's simply because of the mass of babies/small children/bigger children in Lambeth and Southwark due to the mass of retards that breed like they needed a council property.

Oh yes, its well known that people with a 'lower IQ' even than a Daily Mail reader only have children in order to get hold of social housing, especially in South London.

  • You meant East London. My niece just got a one bedroom house - she's 18 with a 6 month old baby. Fairly good deal, that social housing.

Don't choke on your muesli. Yes there are plenty of girls out there who see having a baby as a way to get there own place on the council, especially if trying to get away from their parental home but don't have a job. Not Daily Mail diatribe no matter how convenient it might be for your worthy sensibilities to package it that way and write it off but a simple fact. How do I know? Because I've been told as much by people in that exact situation.

That sounds like it must be true then.

  • sweet jesus.
suddenly remembered why i stopped participating in this rolling cunt-fest some months ago.
what a bunch of douchebags you are.
i'm told there's a "flounced" thread, might go check it out.

  • That's nice. Off you toddle then.

  • Firstly, I would like to say am I sorry you had to put up with someone else's bad - selfish driving.

I had a hit and run situation just over two years ago (Never brought this up on the forum before) which went to court and the lady driver was found guilty. I was cycling from SE London - Lee to Victoria via Peckham - Camberwell and a lady driver cut me up badly, by turning right from the opposite direction. It was perfect daylight and was wearing a flourescent yellow cycling top. Her right turning was so abrupt that we both come to a very sudden halt around 5 metres before Queen's Road/St Mary's Road junction. I fell heavily and was furious as the women didn't apologise or make an attempt to get out of the car to see if I was ok. Luckily there was a witness who saw everything who was furious with the situation as the woman drove off just after as she pulled over and was about to ask for her details. The witness and I both got her number plate, I reported it to the Police and she was found guilty on several different accounts.

Anyway, If you got this drivers number plate there is a chance that some justice can be done, possibly... never easy without a witness and always a very slow process should anything happen in your favour. However, glad nothing is broken and that you are ok.

    regards c_c

  • moral of the story, dont go south of the river

Too right. The drivers there are so crap they even have to paint arrows on the roads to tell them what side of the road they are supposed to drive on.

  • good story C_C.

  • Thanks Multi Grooves, But believe me, it was a very nerve wrecking experience in the court house. The driver concerned felt they were the victim as I had sworn at them but didn't occur that they could have put me in a wheel chair. I still feel to this very day a great sense of justice as oppose to some personal victory... Sounds strange but when you are in court standing on that podium 'The whole truth and nothing but the truth...' matter of principal regarding right and wrong simply came first. The driver didn't wish to admission of guilt through dangerous and selfish driving, and then furthermore, driving off thinking they were going to get away with it. Therefore it ended up in court...

In reflection, I really don't know what goes through the mind of some people when they are on the road with no consideration for others.

Anyway, hit and run is an awful experience if the cyclist is perfectly innocent and glad that roboto is ok.

  • Cheers c_c. I'm fine and I'm back enjoying my ride again. My knee was a bit swollen, but nothing bad and riding has kept me moving it and healed it up quicker than I expected. I didn't manage to get the number plate, but if it does happen again (I hope not) I know what to do!

    Cheers guys

  • catfood, thats another saffa down!

  • really? well... never met a nice one.

  • In future, get the number plate and a witness! Report the matter to the police and if everything is to your advantage the police will do the prosecuting and you don't need any private legal aid (huge legal fees from a private firm of solicitors).

Lastly, I was taken a back with some right crap from some cycling association that if I subscribed to them then I would be entitled to free legal advice. They wanted me to subscribe for five years at considerable expense. THIS WAS COMPLETE CRAP - INFACT A SCAM and felt I was being taken for a complete ride!

If you are clearly in the right and have a witness, the Police will do the prosecuting and do a first class job of it as well.

    All the best Roboto!

    Cheers c_c

  • I was hit off my bike whilst turning right and the car couldn't wait for me to finish my turn before accelerating. Had to jump off my bike, drop it and fell into a parked car whilst she just drove off. If I stayed on the bike I think I would've been under her wheel

  • Saw a car turn left into a cyclist who was riding in a cycle lane this morning.

Fucker then drove off. I saw the cyclist get back on his bike and then gave chase to the car. Caught up over took it and then stopped it.

The cyclist caught up and we had words with the occupants of the car. Amazingly even while the driver was apologising to the cyclist his idiot fat cunt passenger was shouting how the bike should not have been on the inside of the car.

FFS, hit, run and utter vacuous stupidity.

I wanted to call the police, the cyclist who had been hit just wanted to get to work.

As ever, don't use cycle lanes. They just put you in a very vulnerable position where cars can not see you and don't think to check for you.

  • That's appeared in every possible thread so far, Fred.

    Still shocking stuff though.

  • Cycling to hamstead Heath for picnic when I got my own personal Easter hit n run.
Black estate car is doing about 20-25mph on a main rd, no signal, no brakes, he just turns left, cuts me up , causingme to crash into his rear left wheel zone, I end up on his roof promptly rolling off and skidding on my shoulder down the road. Tw@ sped off. 4 witnesses, no numberplates taken.

Really makes you see the arseholes of humanity.

  • fuck. sounds really nasty, hope you heal up quickly man. any chance of cctv on a main road?

  • Grim. How do these sub-humans manage to integrate sufficiently into society to the extent they are granted permission to drive an automobile on public highways?

  • That's crap, Buzz. Where did it happen?

  • Bounds Green Road junct w/ Clarence Road. in North London

Went back today to check for cctv and a roam around the local neighbourhood to see if the car owned lived around Clarence Road.... no luck on either. The bike seems to be ok superficially, I'll probably take it in for a service this week. Thinking about it, theres not a lot that can be done about the crime.

I do have to say that a lovely lady saw the whole thing in her garden whilst readying a BBQ and offered me her kindness to clean my wounds and have a drink. (even invited me back for the BBQ later that evening!) She was an angel and made me realise that something good can come out of something horrible.

I know Friday / Saturday late night drivers are a little reckless, and Sunday drivers are noddy, but Easter Sunday drivers are just blind deaf and dumb.

Thx for your good wishes. :)
