    We are looking for an experienced full time Media Technician to work alongside our production team and IT staff. Working primarily on your own but with support from other staff, the successful candidate would have the freedom to manage their own workload implementing their own systems.

    Day to day duties will include:

    Manage all digital media across numerous drives and servers

    • digitise, compress & encode footage, establish effective naming conventions keeping drives tidy and backed up.

    Manage physical media archive and corresponding database

    • logging tapes and DVDs, occasional transcribing and register content into online database

    Author and encode DVDs

    • design and author creative DVD menus, DVD encoding and compression

    Manage an Extranet and FTP system

    • maintain organised online file transfer systems for colleagues and contacts off-site.

    **Dubbing and tape lay-offs **

    • strong knowledge of various digibeta/dvcam decks essential

    Source and compile footage for journalists

    • using our own archive as well as other sources e.g. ITN, AP Archive

    Design and create cover-art for DVD cases and faces, along with other basic design duties.

    • Using Photoshop and Illustrator, using elements provided by outsourced design teams, create art work primarily for DVDs, but also other occasional projects as required.

    Strong knowledge of Adobe CS software including Encore, Premiere Pro, Dreamweaver is essential.
    Good understanding of Avid Media Composer, Final Cut Pro, professional broadcast video and audio formats and systems, along with basic HTML.

    Meticulous attention to detail
    Good written English
    Capable of managing what can be at times a hectic workload

    We are a strategic communications and TV production company based in the Clerkenwell area, London (with offices in Italy and India). This position is based in the London office.

    Starting salary £20,000 - £27,000 depending on experience
