71 gran fury wins that beauty contest i think.
Ha! mine definitely didn't. It had a Mini-sized dent in the right rear quarter and the front fender was pushed in almost to the raidator (at a funny angle) ...from the front it gave it a kind of demented grin. Given the size and usual driving style it was a pretty intimidating looking car really....
I really like the fuselage style c-bodies though, especially the 2 doors.
Mopar or no car, innit?
.....Sam, your Mini is SHINY!

That was, unfortunately, a long time ago. From memory I got it (partially) rebuilt in early 2003.

My car just came back from the MOT- needs two new control arms.
£264 for those.
Bugger.

I'd love to drive a Ford Escort mk1 mexico or something very smilar!
My dad drove one when I was in Portugal as a kid. Car was brown, but I have really loved it.I do have VW scirocco mk2, but the storm limited edition. But it's offroad atm and needs some work doing to it. Plus I need to learn how to drive :P (It was given to me)
Dad himself has got a left hand drive Golf mk2 GTI (16v I believe), and is the 2nd owner of that car. He has done a series of mods on it, overhurled the engine and inside body work and so on, but he ruined it by painting the car itself banana yellow. IMO!He also has helped to restore a bubble car, but I can't remember what make as I wasn't around his work much when he did.
He is a car body fitter. That's all Im going to say as I don't know much about anything else, just some bits of knowledge and that's it.

Pure speculation, but does it need entirely new control arms or just new bushes?
Could be that it's just easier for mechs. to replace the whole control arm than remove and press new bushings in. But replacing just the bushing should be cheaper and mostly DIY-able? Just time consuming.

The bushings are shot, but the arms themselves are scan-tech pattern parts so they could do with replacing with OEM Volvo stuff anyway to be honest.
The scan-tech stuff can cope with the NA/LPT engines, but when you start getting a bit more power they can be asked questions that they cannot answer.
I knew that one was on it's way out- bit of a surprise that both have gone.
Would you care to buy a 650c rim?
-
• #136
Yeah, new ones it is then.
Sadly, I have no need for a 650c rim. Unless theres 2 and they are shiny chrome

Get it MoT'd at the council garage. Never get ripped off there.

My dad had one of these... i loved it.
Am I dreaming or this is the model where you can adjust
the rear suspension? -
• #144
mate's got a GS.....always seems to be a strong smell of oil inside.
-
• #145
Have a look- Volvo 850R front lower control arms X2, must be OEM.
why oem? Any decent make should be alright
-
• #146
Yep, adjustable hydraulic suspension. The one I drove was like a 1000cc or something. They generally smell of fuel or oil. Driving over speed bumps at full speed with barely a bump was the best bit
-
• #147
why oem?
Because the pattern ones bend
-
• #148
Loved the gs I had, went through a bx phase mainly the diesel ones they were great. Lear alot about the hydraulics and they were really easy to sort.
I'd fancy another xm diesel.

That chopped Karmann looks amazing, nice job.
My perfect car would be along the lines of that Paxo, but a first edition 911 with 993 C2S engine and running gear hmmm....

I cannot stop thinking about a twin-engine 850 estate.
4.6 litres, 10 cylinders, 40 valves, 2 turbochargers, 600bhp available on stock rods with four wheel drive.
Another pic, complete with the standard oil leak.
