I took my course last summer and did lots of training and many rides for Birmingham CC and Sustrans whilst a member of a cycle co-operative but was never fully accredited. Now I've had a break and will be going alone, it's harder to get the opportunity to. Pedal Ready are really helpful though, they offered to accredit me but it was too far to travel at the time.
