In the past I loved different glasses cos I waz such an 'individual' - not in Namm of course but now I weant just one nice pair and then get 'em insured.
They suit you. That's the main thing IMHO.

I tend to wear glasses at home when my eyes need a rest, but outside and at work it's got to be lenses all the way, today's weather would fuck with glasses.

I don't know if they do mail order but I'm going in to my optometrist, Moscot, tomorrow and could ask, they were $70 last year when I got new lenses, so in the area of 40 quid, don't know how cheap that is in comparison but I've got no complaints.
Edit: I would be willing to have them grind some lenses and then send them to you if they don't want to do the mail order thing at its worth it to ya.

Have vowed to get my eyes tested in the next month or two given that I can't see further than about 50 feet, particularly in low light.
Quite fancy these:

Nalco #44 from the 1960s - though they're a bit heavy set and wide at the top. Any suggestions for something a bit less Dame Edna?

Ta, will take a peek.
I think the best thing is that I just go and try some on. Sunglasses have been the bane of many summers simply because I have a funny shaped face and can never seem to get anything to look good.
I'm expecting the same amount of ordeal from regular old glassy glasses.

*Or if it allegedly looks OK to people whose opinions I ask, I invariably feel self conscious. I fucking LOVE Wayfarers, my dad having had a pair all the time I was growing up, but when I put them on, I feel like a preening twat.

glassy glasses are worse because you can see more of your face, you definately need to try them on

For sure.

it looked so small..then i put my glasses on!
I wear contacts that you put in on the 1st of the month and then leave in until the last day of the month.
Every couple of months I will wear my glasses for 4-5 days before putting a new set of lenses in just to give my eyes a rest.
Costs £30 a month, gives me 20/20 vision from the moment I open my eyes to the moment I close them for the night.
So- don't really need glasses, however I have been thinking that maybe if I bought a decent pair I'd wear them more frequently, which would probably not be a bad thing in terms of eye health.
