Gary Fisher and Lemond were both brands owned by Trek. Following comments made by Greg Lemond about Lance Armstrong, Trek's current poster boy, and doping, Trek quietly dropped marketing activity of the Lemond brand. Greg Lemond then successfully brought a law suit against them and he know has control of the brand again.
The Trek made Lemond models were rebranded thereafter as Gary Fisher, hence Ed's comment.
