  • Tell me do, is there really a difference between a 650 wheel and a 26" wheel or are they one and the same ???????

  • wikipedia says yes,
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bicycle_wheel#Sizes

Just read it............ my word !

  • My word? Where's the rest of it?

650C you can get because fast people use them. 650B are a personal import direct from manufacturer if you can find them anywhere WTF. Some one in the states sells them and a man in Essex is about to run out of the etc. Velo orange all over but no Velocity Dyads are Synergys.

You been on the sauce ?

  • 571(650C) and 559 (26mtb size) are the ISO designations so no mix and matching. Sheldon is your friend.

Not yet, but soon. I want, for no good reason, some Velocity 650b rims. Different from 26" mtb size and 650c. Can you get them, can you hell.

But to try to answer your OP, it's all in the beads seat diameters, and the choice of rim widths and tyre sizes available. There is a difference.

  • 650 B 584 mm French utility bikes, tandems, and loaded-touring bikes; some older Raleigh and Schwinn mountain bikes
650 C 571 mm Triathlon, time trial, high performance road bikes for smaller riders
