Do Brixton Cycles take part in the venerable cycle to work scheme? I'm guessing not...
Yes they do (or did last time I bought a bike). The only thing is they add on the admin charge (about £70 or so) which is more expensive than another shop (who are big enough to absorb the cost) however they offer great service and are generally brilliant.
I got my steamroller there (a 'custom' build) through the Cyclee Scheme and it was very reasonable indeed.
If you are looking for cheaper (as someone was further up the thread) the Gary Fisher fixed bike looked like (and probably is) the same frame as the Surly but a rubbish colour. Brixton also used to sell that too (It's ages since I've been in as since I started on my Surly hardly anythign has gone wrong - cf to my geared bike).
