Guys, good news. TNT changes their mind it looks like. New maximum sizes 135x78x35 according to the man of my distripoint! Can't find this info on the website but read it "terms and conditions" in his book. He told me he didn't check sizes exactly and have no returned boxes till now. Otherwise DPD could be cheaper sometimes if you have a distripoint in your city.

Wow, that's a big bike box! Very interested in details of this news John, cause TNT told a friend of mine the exact opposite... they threatened to return boxes that are not whithin max size of exactly 50x50x100
DPD is super fast and cheap for some destinations, but only whithin the EU for non business clients.

nope. got a copy of the page from that terms and conditions book from my local TNT post point manager.
max size whithin NL is as you say 135x78x35, max size to outside NL is still 100x50x50. which is stupid, because none of the international shippers require TNT to lower the max size, and from sender to export customs is, well, shipping whithin NL...
arseholes.

My post office manager is still convinced it's the old school "lenght + circumference = 300 cm max".. So no hassle for me yet.. :)

please keep us informed about this issue..
I often buy stuff from the NL and now they say that even the smallest parcels are more expensive than ever. I tried to buy a frame from a guy who sold a crankset to me and he also refused to ship the frame because of the new restricted dimensions.Shame on TNT !! Shipping from Germany is so much easier but there's lots of great stuff in NL :-(

Not completely true.
Small packages via TNT is still affordable, especially within NL (costs not changed).
But sometimes postage from abroad, especially from companies (not private people) from UK and Germany, is cheaper than postage within NL. Was already the case before 1. January.
Shipping from Germany can also be very expensive.
I usually get my stuff posted at the lowest costs: slower and uninsured.
In most cases, insured shipping makes it far to expensive.
So, it depends if you and the seller want to take the risk.
I'm willing to take a risk up to say GBP 25.-.
Not for a frame set, full bike or wheel set.Examples of shipping costs from NL to UK:
EUR 8.69, below 2 kg, standard delivery, uninsured without tracking no.
EUR 13.00, below 2 kg, insured, with tracking no.
EUR 19.50, 2 - 5 kg, insured, with tracking no. -

but you still can post a frame or full bike from Germany... seems to be not the case from the NL now
