Hello Doom Kitty's mama...mine is called Alley. I don't get out much either thanks to school, but it's nice to have you and cdef and all the other ladies on here to chat to when I can't get out and ride.
Welcome!

Hi girls,
I signed up a couple of days ago and already put an intro into the general welcome thread (http://www.lfgss.com/post1964901-3733.html) , just noticed there is a welcome thread for the ladies too...so saying hi here as well!
I'm working on my first built (yipiie) and trying to gather as much info as possible, there is sooo much reading to be done.
Would be good to meet other girls that are interested in bikes, not that I've got a problem with the guys, but they are easier to find for some reason...Cheers Stef

Hello Ladies,
I've been a forum user for a while but have neglected to introduce myself here! I'm Jess from Birmingham. Been riding for a few years but not really everyday until the past year. I have a step-through conversion, a surly steamroller and a lovely lugged frame I'm building up atm. I used to be part of a Bike co-op and did my bikeability instructor training last year. There is really a shortage of Ladies representing up here and quite often I am the only girl on rides/at social events unless the obligatory missus is brought along. I'm starting a new blog to try and change this but would also like to get more involved in Ladies events elsewhere? I used to live in London and am gutted I didn't realise at the time so much was going on right under my nose. Anyway, life story over and HI ALL! -

Hi there everyone, I'm new to the forum. I just finished stripping, cleaning and respraying my bike, I'm really happy with it again. Now that spring is coming I'm really looking forward to doing longer rides.. I don't really know the country that well yet, any suggestions about nice routes/places to go?
Cheers -

If you're in London, pop round to one of the beer meet, and introduced yourself.

Hey, I'm a newbie but have been using the forum for a good year or so. Thought it was time to finally join. I'm based in London and ride a single speed, mainly for commuting 20 mile round trip to and from work, plus the odd country weekend type ride. Really enjoy them and would like to do more.

Hey Welcome!
Have a look at the Ladies Windsor ride - come join us!

Double check the date - it's being moved from late June to 3rd or 10th July!

Hello - I'm new here too although have been commuting on my bike for the last year. Dulwich/Forest Hill into Victoria so not too taxing.
I've found so much useful info here though as I look for a new (my first) road bike so thank you all so much. And I suspect it may have been Nhatt who helped me out in Brixton Cycles last week. Is it just me or is BC the most relaxed friendly bike shop in London? I always feel a little like I'm being hard sold or patronised in others.

Hi ladies, another newbie here. Have been coveting a SS for a few years but, after living in London for almost a year now (I'm from New Zealand) and having a very rideable commute to work, I've finally taken the plunge and bought my first. At 5'2" I decided to go with the much recommended Mark V HD. Just bought one fully built off another forum member tonight, so looking forward to making it my own over the next six months or so.

Hi everyone! Longtime reader, first time writer - figured it'd be good to introduce myself. I'm Jenni, a Californian transplant and keen cyclist - been here 4 years now. I'm currently writing up business plans to set up my own bike project, and going to be taking a bike mechanic course soon too - so stoked!!! Will be at the Nocturne and Tour de Dalston - and since I've been made part-time at work will be spending loads more time at my local bike project helping out. Will try to make it down to the next drinks? x
-
• #221
Welcome! Will be lots of us down at the Nocturne tomorrow.
-
• #222
Jenny, I'm pretty much doing the same but in Birmingham re the bike project, would love to chat with you at Nocturne/next drinks...!
-
• #223
Mothergirl, I think we may have introduced ourselves via the UKBikes mailing list? Anyhoo, maybe there's a way we could identify ourselves at the Nocturne (i dunno, coloured armbands?) or meet up at some point/place. Just realised I can't make it on the 1st for drinks - will be in Krakow on a cycle tour! x

oh awesome...how did you know it was me?! I never think anyone pays much attention to UKBikes Lists - I was literally talking about that with Birmingham Bike Foundry last night. I don't know my way around there that much but I'll just pm you my number.

Argh, missed this, got busy on the weekend - MG I did an intro on the UKBikes list if you can dig up my email? Otherwise I'll PM you when I'm allowed...
i have decided to come aboard and join my friend here, who recently moved to london. I am always up for talking about bikes, especially in relation to the ladies. one thing that really irritates me about cycling is compression shorts... those things look good on no one! maybe someday, someone will come up with a better design...anyway, hi
