Anyone got any smart ideas about how to permanently stain a sole black? White soles are anathema to me, but my favourite pair of cycling shoes have 'em. I've been periodically giving them a few layers of black spray-paint, but it's just not hard wearing enough.

Failing that, can anyone point me in the direction of some all black (totally, all black, no stitching, no detailing that isn't black as midnight) Vans? Preferably pretty low. I've already got the all black suede chukkas, and I had some all black Del Barco's in suede but I wore them almost every day for about 2 years until even the duct tape wasn't keeping them together...

I too am a lover of the very darkest of shoes. I usually have at least one pair of all black authentics. I also recently bought a pair of Era Pro's which are the tights but unfortuantly do have a grey inner. The rest of them is black suade, all black sole, proper insole. Could be worth a look. Also bought a pair of Nike Bruin SB in all black with a grey swoosh. Theres plenty of murdered out shoes to be had !
