...prefer the old black one tbh
I ran mine singlespeed with flat bars, Hope Minis front & rear.
Great bikes, versatile & fantastic to ride, loved mine, still feel a bit guilty about selling it.

VeeVee treat yourself to a proper bike, you deserve it.
riding an overpriced hybrid is much like a teenage dalliance with shakin stevens or nick kershaw you will look back and wonder what the hell the attraction was.Because I'm worth it :) I was more into Kajagoogoo.

Why so many disdain for the Roadrat? at appearance it look like a decent little bike, what about it that's so bad?
(yes I know, old topic resurface by an inept fool who just want to says "look great").

General opinion back when I bought mine seemed to be...
1) Urgh - it has a sloping top-tube! (this attitude seems to be lessening somewhat)
2) It's an overpriced hybrid (dirty word back then - still is I guess)
3) It's a jack of all trades and master of none
4) It's trying to be something it's notOddly enough it seemed to manage to offend both ends of the spectrum - fixie skiddaz thought it uncool, regular cyclists wanted something more specific...

I think it's an awesome do-it-all platform - like the Cross Check, for people who only have the space for one bike. Nowt wrong with that, and will serve touring, CX, sportive, audax and commuting needs nicely...unless you are actually out to win, in which case you'll have specific bikes anyway.
