When you say demo maps are available, what does that entail? A new SD would be 33 quid. Just trying to establish how usable this is. Is it effectively a large speedo / cadence comp?
-

No cadence sensor there. The demo maps that come with it are just - just about OK for getting around on the roads if you stick to fairly major ones, but beyond that you need to get City Navigator or similar for on-road, or OS for off. There are freeware alternatives, but not sure how effective they are to use. All on SD card of course, though I think you can still opt for CD if you buy from Garmin.

you can use free maps with it - tried several and they are pretty good - check other threads on the forum for more info. it will go with a 4GB card and some maps on it - downloaded free from internt like openstreetmap garmin.na1400.info and so on.
if you check plenty of peeps are saying that gramin maps are useles - matter of choice and use case - and not worth paying for especially as so much free stuff is avail with full online support and so on.
have a look and think about it. I suspect if I wont sell I will start using it for the training.
thanks
