the shimano ones are definitely much better than the velosteel ones. the brake is much more powerful and it just feels nicer.
if anyone wants, i have a shimano one that i would part with. it works fine but its a bit tarnished, suitable for a beater. 8 quid posted with a 13t and 18t cog.
