But apart from the sanitation, the medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, the fresh-water system, and public health, what has the Ahead stem ever done for us?

Srsly, I don't care if an ahead stem is better in all measurable ways, I don't like looking at them.
The quillinator is a bit spesh though.
While we're trying to ignore it, is there enough wall thickness on a threadless steerer tube to cut a thread and use a threaded headset? And a diddy insert to space from 22.2 to 25.4.
