Hope the injured lady, whoever you are, can get through this to recovery. Be strong.
I wish this season of injuries and worse would end now. -

This month has been horrific so far.
Best wishes to the cyclist, may they get better swiftly.

I saw the aftermath coming home from work, chilling stuff. I use this road every day without a care in the world, just goes to show places you feel pretty open and safe in aren't always necessarily so
I hope it isn't too bad and they recover quickly

New and Kings road are real accident hotspots, i seem to remember reading somewhere that the KR is statistically one of the most dangerous roads to cycle on,
Thoughts with the rider

Funny, I ride King's Road everyday and also feel like it's one of the safer routes. The traffic isn't manically fast or unpredictable. Obviously a dangerous illusion.

+1 even after cycle training, I ride it almost daily & it scares the daylights out of me - too many high speed 4x4's, vans & fast cars - almost seems as if drivers are fixated on getting on the A3/M3/M4 and this is combined with many side roads & shops

Would be interested in the origin of those stats.
I've been riding Kings Road every day for years and it definitely feels like one of the safer parts of my commute.

gutting. this is a bad month.
thoughts to the victim. -

Hope you get well soon and that your injuries are not too serious.
Ride down there everyday - except this one, so missed the aftermath. The first bit leading on to the NKR is a pain. I had a big acccident there 3 yrs ago. Lots of unpredictable traffic near junctions, very late indication etc. Always think it's an odd place for that sort of behaviour as you are unlikely to go down there by chance.

I've only just seen this and didn't realise that yet another really serious crash had happened in the same timespan.

any news on this?

today I got done by the side of a car not indicating and deciding to cut across the cycle lane, near tesco. Only damage was a scratch on her door, luckily wasn;t actually knocked to the ground. I have been taking it a bit easier on this road since last week, good job really

Glad you're well!

Thanks, luckily we were both going fairly slowly. Also, the adrenaline was pretty rad.

Any news on this rider?

Haven't heard anything further on the local grapevine, there is a yellow "incident" board up which provides no other details, but thankfully does not state it was a "fatal incident" - here's hoping the lady is making a good recovery.

terrible news if so. RIP.
everyone be safe.
Was driving west along New Kings Road at about 13.30 today, and came across a woman who was stuck under a wheel of a City Link transit van.
Her leg was trapped underneath the wheel, the Van had come out of a side road and hit her maybe at the zebra crossing trapping her leg. I didn't get out as there was several people attending to her.
