I have a Canon TC-80N3 remote that I’d like to modify. I would like to do this:

I spose I could do this myself, but I’d have to buy a soldering iron and the last time I remember attempting to solder something was about 13 years ago and I destroyed the thing I was working on. Even though this is a relatively simple procedure, I'd rather not risk that with my canon remote. And I'd probably end up doing a shite job too.
I'd supply the parts. Anyone know of an electronics shop I can get this done in?
