I splashed out on a £16 nickel plated sram chain at the start of winter, its now a very distinct rust colour!

All our chains will be rusty if we spend too much time pondering over this one.
Yes, it's a shame someone took advantage of this guy, but it was obviously worth it to him at the time and (thanks to this place) has been a huge learning curve for him, no real harm done and hopefully has had many happy miles riding it.
