So I tried a quick search for an answer to this with no luck. So my BB started making some nasty noises and wasn't riding as smooth so took it apart to see what was going on. It seemed to have run out of grease and the bearings had rusted and come free from the cage on one side. Luckily there was no signs of wear on the spindle or any of the threads though so I'm only looking at replacing the bearings.
Anyway I made the mistake of going to Halfords for some replacements, and whilst they're fine and it all seems to run smooth I don't have hopes that they'll last or ride as well as it could.
Anyone know where I can pick up some replacements online or it is just a case of going to a semi decent bike shop for some nicer ones?
