25.4 is BMX size.
Before the current wave of slammed seats and pivotal setups, BMXers rolled with pretty long orthodox seat posts in 25.4 - just a lead for you to follow.
Also, you could potentially use a modest 25.4 length post as an "extender" like bromptons have. Just lop the end off, cut a slot, then find a clamp. You could then insert a 22mm seatpost in the top.

That's great thanks EEI, I'm in Manc so I'd pay postage if that'd be no hassle to you.
DFP good idea thanks, I've got a spare 25.4 knocking around so I'll have a go at 'bromptoning' it later. I'll post the results once I've got a 22 to fit into it.

Thanks! It's good fun for getting around town - I'm going to add a 3 speed rear hub as it's a bit too spinny at the moment - not sure how it'll handle at speed!

Resurrecting this from the depths. I see @Archigeek hasn't been online for over a year... but I'm wondering if anyone has any good leads for a super long seatpost?
I am looking into the unicycle route, but I think the folding bike would look even more stupid if I tried a unicycle seat on it (so far found only proprietary mount).

Okay, found that SJS have one, but also the same stuff on the auction site. Longest I could find is 410mm from the UK. A 450mm was available from China, but is out of stock. Got a 410mm on the way.

i'm looking for a cheap or free 25.4 seatpost, average length, so if you guys have any let me know please
Hi, I've been looking for a 25.4mm seatpost longer than 400mm for my folder as i'm currently way past the limit line! Appreciate it's a bit of a long shot but figured someone on here would have some tips. I've done a quick UTFS and couldn't find much.
I've looked into getting a 500mm long unicycle seatpost but the end is built for the directly bolt fixed unicycle seat. http://www.unicycle.uk.com/udc-heavy-duty-chrome-seatpost-500mm-25-6.html/?___store=default
Also thought about getting a 22mm post and using a shim but can't find a 22mm tube longer than 400mm. Any ideas would be very helpful
The seats for an ikea folding bike, needed a cheap folder when my office stopped providing cycle parking, it's fun to ride but I don't want to wreck the frame by ignoring the limit line
Thanks!
