  • Love it! What gear ratio are you running? Are you planning on racing it?

As to the disc brake question, disc brakes were banned in UCI categorised races up until last summer. For most people this had no impact as the vast majority of cross races in the UK are not UCI categorised, but it did mean the pros couldn't use discs. In my experience, road shift levers and mechanical disc brakes don't mix well so braking is nowhere near as good as hydraulic discs. With the rule changed I'd expect someone to bring out hydraulic discs that work with road shift levers in the next 12 months.

Cheers :) - I am running 44:15 fixed, no plan at the moment to race it. It has replaced my Singlespeed Tricross, which I bought as a commuter but really fell for. So its my daily work horse, weekend ride with the gf, basically anything that isn't mtb'ing. I have now ridden about 200 miles, about 1/3 of that light offload - absolutely lovely!

  • ^^ That Dyna Tech is great.. Not even a break mark on the rims.. Great find!

  • Stuck the tri-bars on the commuting Lo-Pro

and the girlfriend's bike is coming along:

cheers, makes the 5hr round trip to get it all worth while

    Love that bike. Gangster....ish!

  • the perfect commuting position for nipping in and out of traffic ? :-0

  • I loved commuting with tt bars (commuting bike). Once the weather gets a little better/I get a little fitter they'll be going back on, I think...

  • 6pt, im sure i have seen you a couple of times in the last few months at the junction of denmark hill/coldharbour lane?

or at least someone with a very similar bike.

  • There are probably a few similar bikes in the area due to location of the shop (not many with stupid handlebars and a bsnyc headbadge tho). But I'm buzzing around the area a lot, so it's probably me.

  • next time, i will make the noise of a mating walrus,

you will know who I am then

  • Had the GT on a spin around brighton, didn't rate some of the braklessness, but the fit is perfect. Sunday I'm going on a proper ride so will find out better. Totally chuffed!

  • tenderloin, finished build pic? c'mon!

  • Yes and borrow a nice camera to take some quality pics of the GT plz, must be one in your house.

  • OK.brb...

  • If anyone has a 27.2 Syncros seatpost let me know.

  • looks gert lush, a syncros post would be a lovely touch.

  • Cheers, I want to put wound up forks on, but they are premo pricey. The Cougar forks are fucking dope, but I ain't drilling them, and I really could do with having the option of running a brake where I'm based in Brighton. Might have to settle for some straight as possible aluminium boys. Got some Basso pursuit bars im gonna try out as well, but I really enjoyed riding with the risers.

Yeah, and thats a really good price but gonna hold out for a while see if one of these comes up...

  • most of my commute is on B-roads and country lanes, at a time of day when there are barely any cars.

the perfect commuting position for nipping in and out of traffic ? :-0

  • Tenderloin, obvious option, but what about those Dia Compe clamp-on brakes?

  • Project Track 2011 begins!

  • Track racing is serious business.
