I once made the mistake of asking on a specific car forum, the easiest way to brake into my own car after I locked the keys inside. I was told politely to feck off.
You are essentially asking on a bike forum, where people value their bikes, the easiest way to steal one. Think about it.

Was not asking how to steal it though...i was asking how to break the lock of an abandoned bike i've got permission, by the police, to take, quite different.
anyway i've got it now, police know and if there's a rightful owner he'll now how to find me.

But you're right, is quite an awkward place to ask how to open a bike lock...not the only one asking though
-
• #287
You are gifted.
So a description of how to break a lock might be useful to what kind of person?

That is because no one was prepared to comment or give advice.
Next week you could go and ask on mumsnet how to seduce an underage child.

well, there's no magic to it...you need a power grinder the size of a big dog for which you need a license and therefore are responsible for its use...i had to call the police and let them speak with a qualified person and everything was legally done.

Ok, cool, everyone happy now

Excuse me Pol Paz, but I'd really rather that you returned my bike frame to its original location as the police had no right to authroise the theft of my property.

As useful as that blank reply may appear in your tiny mind, would you be able to expand it slightly for those of us with lower telekinetic abilities?

Let me spell it out for you in a more succinct way.
Gaining the permission of anyone to re-appropriate ownership or property which is not theirs to give away is called theft (Even if you do earn gutter rent working as an "honest barman" in one of this cities fine establishments).

couldn't manage to expand it, so put a link just for you! go practice a bit...telekinesis is really handy! you can come back when your HUGE brain works for something! ;)

I agree with victim of theft.
You do not have the right to take the bike, the police can not grant such authority to you.

ABANDONED, anyway, if an owner exists he will find out the whereabouts of his frame. re check your concept of stealing i'm sure that that brain of yours would be glad to be given a bit of exercise...don't forget the telekinesis whilst your at it
I don't know about anybody else but I just fancy the challenge of removing the lock now to hell with the frame!!
