  • Funny lot, you are. I'll be happy to give these a try and try to win a free bike.

    +1

And also +1 to what Lebowski said about sponsers.

  • Thanks for all your feed back. Incidentally the bike picture posted is of a Teman bike, far from the finished product that will become the Nologo's.

I was just looking to get an idea of the reaction from serious fixie riders as i'm nosing about for a suitable small launch that everyone can benefit from and that won't step on toes. You're right of course, Create was a bad comparison!

I've listened to the different opinions thanks. Be assured, I have no intention of mooting these as comparable to top level bikes, but they are very decent cheap bikes with some decent colour ranges. I've been riding one of the latest prototypes for 3 months as my main bike, it's quick, strong, light enough and a fun ride, which is what they will ultimately be all about.

    Again, feedback appreciated.

  • I've had a word with nologobikes on behalf of the LHBPA, maybe we can get a tournament out of this (on our own bikes), I'll let you lot know later when I've had a more detailed chat with him.

  • John, I think you should start a thread in the LHBPA forum and discuss this idea. I think the LHBPA needs to be careful about who we associate ourselves with. We also need to have a finite number of tourneys in London each year. But all this can be discussed there.

  • +1

  • There's a useful (maybe) thread somewhere about when Nike wanted to do an associated piece with London Polo, and the 'community's' feel about an association with them. Definitely worth a read if want to get the gist of the 'vibe' on this sort of thing.

  • yep, personally, I'd rather not have bike polo used to promote stuff that is either non-specific, or not beneficial to polo. I also feel the same about doing an event in cahoots with a horse polo event.

  • I think the Nike one they didn't actually offer anything though (except Nike t-shirts), basically a lot of people have a price, I'd say the chance to win a circa £200 bike would get me to play!

But then again i've know about my flexible morals since I got paid twice as much, working for an oil company, as I thought I was worth.

    +lots.

  • Don't worry, I'm just having a friendly chat with him, if there is anything to discuss, I'll make sure that people get the chance, I wouldn't do anything like that without the association approval.

    Are you Dani Foffa?

  • Just what you need, another crate to play polo on!

For those who haven't seen the create thread:
    http://www.lfgss.com/thread23593.html
    It's a great read.

I got through about half of the thread and got bored. Did Jos ever ride the bike to destruction?

  • Teman bikes are Creates. The sell them in that ex Chinese takeaway on Hackney Rd. (who the he'll buys a bike from a Chinese takeaway?)

  • Sounds like utter crap to me, and what's with calling it "nologo", not very original is it (Muji).

  • Cheap, nasty, pieces of shit being offered as prizes in a co-branding exercise by people who probably don't give a damn about your sport?

The last thing London polo should associate itself with.

  • Thanks for saying it how it is john, exactly what I wanted to say!

    Come back to polo John!

  • brill! are the arrow thingys back on now?

  • I think the LHBPA needs to be careful about who we associate ourselves with.

    +lots and lots.

or of even a decent enough quality and of good enough trading standards to warrant an association with london polo. not necessarily putting the above products in a positive or negative light, just saying that it should be looked at closely before people say 'hell yeah!' to 'free' stuff.

  • free stuff?

    HELL YEAH!
