  • I do the fleece bibs + optional kneewarmers thing. Bibknicks are a lottery - the way the knee joint is stitched and designed to articulate is based on having a certain femur length. If you happen to not fit this template, despite them being the correct size, you end up with them riding up, or stitching cutting across tendons at uncomfortable places, and so on. The 2-part system gets around this predicament.

    I don't know about Assos sizing. The most important aspect of fit is around the chamois/upper thighs/hips, just like any other downstairs cycling garment. Whether the straps are long enough is dependent on manufacturer templates. If the shorts fit but the straps are too short, strike the manufacturer off your list of possibilities.
