Best wishes to the injured rider.
I think we should not comment further on Gobby Wench's posts but rather just report them to Velocio. -

Hey all,
I've just got back from the hospital. He's still critical, but is steady.
Thanks for all of your messages. I showed them to his Mum, and she appreciated it.
Don't worry too much about the press. Slightly amusing that lgfss has been used in this way, but it's the least of our worries!
Best,
Joe

Hi all,
I have a favour to ask.
Did anyone witness this, or know of anyone who witnessed the accident?
The Police don't have any CCTV, and are struggling for witnesses.
Let me know.

walked pass there this morning and had a good look for cctv. there's two big posts with big cameras on but they might not see the crossing itself, could be worth a look though.
I find it weird though that such a big crossing isn't covered? Isn't there cameras in the lights etc to catch RLJ cars?
Think it'd be a good idea to put up notes in the area asking witnesses to come forth. I live just around the corner so can help with putting them up, just pm me or post here if I can do anything

Worth quoting again. Witnesses are absolutely crucial for making sure that this has a good resolution. Come forward if you saw it.

+1 re witnesses.
It's worth anyone involved with this also checking for private security cameras (shop fronts, the station, the pub overlooking the junction etc) - if you think they might cover the junction get the Fuzz to request the footage.
On the matter of witnesses, in case anyone is reading this but lurking, if they saw something who should they contact?
Lastly, I notice that there have been no arrests http://www.hackneygazette.co.uk:80/news/no_arrests_after_dalston_junction_cyclist_collision_1_792645 Isn't the standard procedure these days for the driver to be arrested on the spot and later bailed in order for them to be breathalysed and for their time sheets etc checked? Just nervous as we all know that standard operating procedure isn't always followed in these cases.

mile end road is a bit of a horror show for accidents
