gobby, not being tribal, but the rider down threads, though not ultimately "private" are a space where information about accidents can be shared, and many friends and family of the person involved in the accident have come to this forum and these threads have done so in the past.
We all know that in riding bikes, many of these accidents/incidents could have happened to us, so we want to know what happened and that the person involved in it, is okay.
If in publishing the comments above, the hackney hive make friends and family unwilling to come onto these threads to give us good, or bad news, then we all lose out.
Thoughts with the friends and family of both incidents..
