That Grupetto is spaghettihoops custom paintjob, of a Nelson Pista.
-
• #31
is it? who knew! because in that case i'm pretty certain i've seen it parked outside the herne hill sainsburys on more than one occasion. always thought it was an otp'er. sorry 'hoops - nowt personal.

So is the nelson really the most cost effect option?
-
• #33
Maybe. We have a new contender. Custom alu frame for 300 Euros.

F**k it I think I'll just get the mash. Found a cheap-ish deal online and price will be going to £750 soon so, I guess carpe diem. I would have considered the look but the price has shit up quite a bit today. Well I guess it wasn't meant to be in the end.

I quite like this bike and I'm not a fan of alu frames. Dolans, Vigorellis, Mashes, Leaders don't please me at all.
This bike is sweet, though. The welds don't look sore and painful to watch and the paintwork's lush. -

Look 464 would be better....
just sayin.http://www.allterraincycles.co.uk/product/121706.html
That Portugese frame is lush, and for the price I wouldn't be suprised if they guy has a lot of business from this forum.

Look 464 or that Portugese frame if it were for myself. Either that or get a Fort.

i'm thinking that for 1133.6500 dollars i could find one hell of a frameset that isn't a cinelli mash. fucking hell.

That would be me... I live in Herne Hill.
C.S. Grupetto is the Cycling club i'm a member of.... not a brand.
I didn't like the original paintjob, so re-sprayed it at work. -

This bike is sweet, though. The welds don't look sore and painful to watch and the paintwork's lush.remember, the paintjob was not made by Valdemiro. I did it myself.
I spent alot of hours working on it (just preparing the frame for the paintjob) and that's why the final look of the welds look that way.
I think Valdemiro can also do that but the price might get higher.
I also must remind you all that this frame was almost 100% designed by me and i picked the tubes (Easton scandium) for it. Valdemiro made a great job by welding the tube as i asked him to. I saw him (last week) starting a new track frame (very different than mine) using also alu but not scandium. That might change the price too.
But nothing like talking with him about a project. He sure likes personal projects. That's why i did my project there... and that's why i will make another one ;) -

I didn't like the original paintjob, so re-sprayed it at work.ha! well consider yourself spotted sirrah. you once politely enquired about my shitty japanese back up d-lock in a 'you're a bit of a tit using that flimsy sack of crap to lock your ride up' kinda way, tho you were quite diplomatic about it - and it got me thinking you were right. backup is now a monstrous kryptonite. chars!

• #47
sorry, didn't mean to sound like a tit.... just wasn't sure if you were aware that a piece of string would be more effective than those crappy alloy things.
-
• #48
not at all! you didnt sound like a tit at all, just my point - you probably should have ;)
thanks for the tip mind you
