timmy was hoping for something a bit more portable, as I'll need to lug it into work to copy footage onto, so I can work from home...
also thinking I'd like a firewire 400/800 for quicker movement of info

Western Digital or Samsung Spinpoint for internal drives

Some WD Passports have FW800 but not with 1tb so maybe a thirdoarty caddy is the answer, don't forget higher capacity portable drives have a much slower speed than smaller ones.
