Pace isn't the real problem, it's people getting lost.
To be fair, due to the size of the group starting out, if you found yourself setting off near the back you were fucked pretty quickly by the traffic still on the roads. As there was no critical mass style blocking going on, some of us simply had to stop at several junctions and there was no way most people were jumping the gap. I got to the arse end of the front group and was bollocksed from the effort so was glad of the rest when I doubled back at Tower bridge to wait for my gf.
