  • So here I am again on my own..feet. Well not really but my everyday bike was stolen and I am looking to replace it. It was a one of a kind so it's a hard task. But here's the dilemma in a nutshell:
I'm a sucker for the cinelli mash, but £700 for a frame made in china is a bit hard to justify. So I am on the hunt for something within that price range (aluminium frame/carbon fork)with tons of identity.
"Poor you!" some might be thinking but I know that if I get something that hasn't I'm just gonna end up buying another one when it comes up.
    So what are your thoughts?
    Thanks for your help.

  • dolan track champ? all made in the same sweatshop tbh.

  • That's what they suggested at Tokio Fixed, but I lost my soft spot for Dolans 4 years ago..

  • good ol TFG - actively discouraging people from buying mashes. love their work.

  • /looks like a tube of toothpaste tbh

  • Old Cinelli Vigorelli.

    My favorite hated bike.

if you can get the US colorway:

    even sicker.

Yeah, you could get the unbranded version.

There is no way you shouldbe be laying out 700 notes for a fecking mash (IMHO). For that money you could have a Koga or Look.

Although personaly I have a soft spot for Principia, so would dig deeper and get this one.

  • Ok so made a few phone calls and nobody wrights off the MASH, but condor could custom build a frame with similar specs for £600ish. The only thing is...16 weeks wait.

  • Ps I know the vigorelli is pretty much the same as the mash but it's top tube slopes towards the wrong end, and all the other options looks a bit too sporty. If it were shoes we were talking about, those would be trainers, a nagasawa or supercorsa would be leather brogues. I am looking for convers all stars.
I know I'm kicking up a fuss a spoiled child would but I'm paying for. It so I might as well get exactly what I want.

  • fairynuff. the hipster tax on some frames is just laughable tho. give it a year, those mashes (mashii?) will be going for a hundred quid.

  • gotta be hotta than a Mash?!

  • Lol
Freggin shame. I don't consider meself a hipster but my '84 wilier is hip as it gets, but then I have a son and I guess that exempts me for being considered a hipster. Ps I dont own a bugaboo, aka hipsyer pushchair!

  • gotta be hotta than a Mash?!

Oh you hit the spot right there!

  • They do a 'fixie' version as well, although consensus seems unsure on the difference between the 2 frames. Buy this, not a Mash. and just leave the big Look decal, I think that would look dope... If someone has mad chopped potato skills mock me one up please?

  • i have a 464. its sweet. mine has silver omniums, front brake and pro track drops. i think it looks proper porn worthy. but then it is my bike. i looked at a mash, but it was just a bit hip for my liking. real happy i didnt get one.

  • Nelson Pista + new forks + Custom paint job.

Seriously, the tubing's good, as are the welds, and a funky paintjob will be what £150-200? That leaves plenty for some uber bling foks. You'll end up with a good bike which will look heavy and no one else will have.

  • if you can get the US colorway:

    even sicker.
i'm getting this when i have a bit more cash...
will use the fact my dad now lives in Boston.

  • (p.s. kidding)

    [p.p.s. probably]

  • is that cinelli built for an elf? it's fucking tiny!

  • it comes in regular sizes too.

  • Looks Bostin'...

  • This Is kinda a shameless plug, but I LOVE my bike, so it has to be done.
I don't know how easy they are to get sent over, I know that Jeff does ship sometimes, but this is the nicest bike I own, and one of the nicest that I have ever owned.
I'm sponsored by the company, so I've got a soft spot for them, but it took me an age to build it up, didn't think I was going to like it, but now that it's built I'm hard pressed to ride anything else, including the steamroller.

If you are anywhere near my size you are welcome to have a go on mine.

  • The internez says the continuum frame is good. Altho $550 + shipping might make it a bit over priced.

TBH I know it's made in the US, but I don't think a decent alu frame should have unfinished/smoothed welds. It just looks a bit cheap imo.

I still think my idea about the custom sprayed Nelson is the best. Just imagine this:
