I'd talk to the neighbours first... repeaters aren't cheap enough for the time period you're talking about.
Alternatively, a PAYG MiFi is a great investment that you could later take advantage of:

That creates a WiFi bubble from a 3G signal, and in the bigger picture this means you could get WiFi at a polo tournament one day ;)
