Anyway, sorry, wasn't exactly clear. I meant only two places which are comfortable to work/browse from which I can get a connection full-stop of one bar which is quasi-stable. If I put my laptop on the window sill in the bedroom I can get two bars easily. I've seen it 3+ on the window sill in the kitchen. The idea is to find the spot where the connection is strongest and boost from there (and in any case, I had hoped/assumed a repeater/hub would have a stronger "antenna" than a laptop's wifi).
There's one sky AP with 4 bars right now. In general there are a shit load of others that fluctuate depending on what room I'm in (this place is a bit of a signal hole - can't get HSDPA or 3G in a lot of places in the flat).
I'd rather not have to talk to my neighbours. But if worst comes to worst.
