    Serious solution, right there.

Foot retention is your first priority, either clips and straps or SPD style clip-in pedals.

Second is practice. Somewhere out of the way with little traffic, some recommend grass to learn to skid stop. It's not the only way to stop though. It's good you've got a brake.

We thrash novices such as yourself because these questions are answered so commonly, and the answers are found so easily, people don't really like helping people who don't seem to try to help themselves.

We're a harsh bunch, but we mean well really.

    repped for joke reversal

    and learn how to stop

foot retention is not a brake in and of itself, there is a skill to be developed

  • So many viewers!
His ego clearly leads him to believe it's the bikes fault he can't stop. Not his own failings.
    Clips, straps, spd, practice.

  • Doesn't he have spd's from the answer up there^^^?

OP - go to the nearest park. Clip in. Ride around speeding up a bit then slowing down a bit.

Repeat till you get it. Do not go on the road till you know you can stop. Maybe also put a rear brake on for a bit too.

    UTFS for various other tips.

  • Factual - YOU NEED TO ATTACH YOUR FEET TO THE FUCKING PEDALS OR YOU ARE A DEATHTRAP

    or you're chris akrigg

  • I aint been in foot retention for years the good old days they were, do Clarks do them!

  • what colour are your shoes? if they're red they'll be much much too fast and you'll likely not be able to brake properly due to the mixed signals your feet are sending to the pedals.

try wearing some slower coloured shoes

  • lol im taking it back to halfords, they can put the freaking stablisers back on too whilst they are at it hehehe

  • Lose the pedals altogether - You're probably more suited to this:

    #notbullying

that has no braking at all...

    downright irresponsible advice.

  • I know what shall I do about the stablisers can I leave them on whilst I practice please

  • @wayne - why do you think so many fixed gear riders have such enormous bags on their back? It's to stow the parachute for emergencies.

    True fact!

Some also have vintage camera equipment in them, MrSmyth for one.

  • Take the stabilisers off, and the wheels too for that matter. Much safer that way you see.

  • Ive been out on my drive dont worry I aint touched the road with it yet
