They are an embarrasment, and so were sacked. Perhaps if there wasn't a backlog of dickishness which came out over the next day or two andy gray may have been let off, and if Keys didn't dig his own grave he might have escaped a sacking.
It isn't a case of a joke getting out of hand, it's a manefestation of their ignorance and predjudice against women in the sport. They are in effect spokesman for the broadcaster this obviously makes their job untenable.
The moralising in the media is another thing
