I,m joking too , no carbon TT frames ,I,m not a cycle shop I,m simply a finder of these classic cycles in Italy and I'm bringing them back here to London [ can't be a bad thing ] my business is classic scooters , I'm also able to bring in alot of these cycles and I need a website to display/sell them , in order to go get some more . I wanted to tell you about them ... but I'm trying not to break rules ..catch 22
Oh, so you're not making any money on these bikes then? You're just doing it out the goodness of your own heart? Shipping 40 bikes at a time from Italy to sell in London at London prices? Come on now, we're not that green, and it's insulting to our intelligence to say things like that unless you're going to tell me you're not going to make a penny out of all these bikes? In which case why on earth are you doing it?!
Nobody has anything against you making some money, but rules are rules and you're advertising these bikes on gumtree and on your own website.
As far as I can see posting these bikes here is just a way of promoting them without putting them in classifieds (where you'd get banned for cross posting them all over the internet). And posting all those pics is spamming.
That said, and this is friendly advice - it might sound like I'm having a go up there, I'm not - it looks like you have nice bikes and if you can ship them in from Italy and sell them here at good prices while making some money for yourself then great, good luck to you, this forum has no problem with small independent commercial sellers, look at people like Hilary Stone.
The way I'd do it is pick a few of the nicer ones, remove their listings from gumtree and your site and try selling them properly and exclusively on here. If they don't go, maybe this isn't the place to sell them and you're not reaching the right target audience, but at least you'll know. Also if you sell bikes successfully here you will build up a good reputation. Which is what you should be looking to do.
This is the other problem with your marketing strategy - if someone does call up about one of these bikes, how do you know if they've come from your site, gumtree, or here? If on here you'd probably get a PM, so you'd know, but what I'd do is have a batch that I try to sell on here, on the website, and on gumtree, see which sell best and concentrate my efforts on that. I'd guess with your products it's not going to be gumtree...
