Analog film photography and cameras

you will need 1600-3200 asa to shoot anything handheld inside the velodrome, don't expect to get anything but blurred riders when they are on the track

Pack some Neopan 1600, push it 1 stop if you need more.

Why not use a fast standard or wide angle lens if you have one and concentrate on what's going on around you to capture the atmosphere of the event. You might not be able to get trackside, but you will be surrounded by interesting punters, riders, bikes, maybe the "pit" area or whatever? All good camera fodder.
